Jim Baird // Business / Planning Focalizer, Elder A smooth-talking, apple-growing, wild-eyed farmer, Jim has been holding it down hippy-style in Eastern Washington farm country since his entrance into the orchard industry in the mid-1970s. His passion for farming has lead to the mission of Cloudview, originally a small (< 1 acre) hilltop garden. He belongs to several organizations and is a founding member of the Slow Money movement, which seeks to connect local investors with farmers and local eco-agricultural projects to bring about long-term sustainability. |

James McGreevey // Truck Farm / Seed Program Focalizer Jimbo, as we call him, has been involved with agriculture almost his entire life in some form or another. While growing up on a small farm in Northwest WA he raised various livestock and garden veggies over the years, and was a member of the Lynden FFA. After completing his degree in Religious Studies at CWU, Jim found himself finally studying at The Evergreen State College in their Practice of Sustainable Agriculture program. Jim is now focused on developing regionally adapted seed strains of several market crops, as well as perfecting the art of raising garlic, potatoes, and broccoli. He is very passionate about soil balancing and proper crop rotation, as well as cultivating a more sacred connection to the land that ultimately sustains our health. Jim hopes to expand the overall biological diversity of Cloudview's ecosystem as well as develop the most nutritionally dense produce grown on the Royal Slope. In his free time he can be found working on his VW Bus, tending to his bonsai trees, and playing with his kids whenever he gets the chance. |

Jacob Aman // Permaculture / Art / Web Focalizer Jacob is an artist and permaculture designer. He began working on ecofarms in 2001 and deepened his scientific studies at the Evergreen State College where he obtained a degree in biology, focusing on connecting belowground and aboveground biological relationships. After researching a number of fields related to ecological design, Jacob has narrowed in on pattern languaging, plant breeding and soil stewardship. In particular, he believes that plant breeding is a highly spiritual interaction that humans can offer nature. By offering our unique pattern observation skills and artistic vision, humans can guide and assist plant species in the evolution of their form and function. The art of this practice has been mostly lost, as it takes a patient heart and diligent eyes. » Personal Page |

Taylor McCormack // Truck Farm Assistant / Mycology Focalizer I grew up in Bothell on the westside, the beautiful scenery of the eastside grows on me more every year I live out here. I Graduated from Central Washington University June 2009 with a BS degree in biology and ecology. I focused most of my studies around plants when I could, they fascinate me and I’m always eager to learn more about them. I’m also interested in mycology, I’m currently experimenting with cultivation of several species of fungi. I also love to cook, especially vegan food which contains no meat or animal products including dairy or eggs. I am eagerly anticipating the construction of our commercial kitchen so we can start preserving food to supply ourselves and others with local food sources during the off season. |
